Unattended 1.0 released

"Unattended" is a system for fully automating the installation of Windows 2000 and XP workstations. Version 1.0 removes the need for Unix servers and adds support for installing Windows XP, and is the first "production" release.

Many people use imaging technologies (sysprep, Ghost, etc.) to deploy Windows workstations. This is usually a bad idea. Imaging is fine for installing hundreds of workstations with 100% identical hardware, but in most environments, true unattended installation is a superior approach.

This system is a set of tools and instructions. Check it out at <http://unattended.sourceforge.net/>.
