Ucontrol 1.4.6
MacOSX 10.3.8
No other modifications
Note that the earlier ucontrol version worked fine under
10.3.7.

Summary:

When ucontrol 1.4.6 kernel extension is installeed,
after my G4-PB Titanium (acquired early 2003) sleeps,
it won't wake up.

Steps to reproduce:

I. Verify correct function without ucontrol:

1. Boot the PB, without the ucontrol kernel extension
installed.

2. Put it to sleep (either by manually putting it to
sleep with the apple menu, or by closing the lid).

3. Be sure the oscillating sleep indicator light is
slowly flashing light and dark

4. Wake the PB up by either opening the lid (if closed)
or clicking the mouse/trackball (if open).

5. Observe that the oscillating sleep indicator light
turns off as the machine is about to wake up.

6. It comes awake and the display shows the proper
state. You can repeatedly put it to sleep and awaken it
this way.

II. Verify uncontrol problem:

1. Now load the ucontrol kernel extension, either
manually or by rebooting with the "load a boot" flag
set.

2. Put the PB to sleep as in step I.2 above.

3. Observe that the oscillating sleep indicator light
is slowly flashing light and dark, as in step I.3
above.

4. Try to wake the PB up by either opening the lid (if
closed) or clicking the mouse/trackball (if open) as in
I.4 above.

5. Observe that the oscillating sleep indicator light
turns off as though the machine is about to wake up, as
in I.5 above

6. Note that the machine is not awake and is now in
some kind of locked, suspended state, with the screen
black. The capslock LED will still go on and off so
something is alive at some level, but there's no other
response. The only thing to do now seems to be to
unplug the power, detach the battery, let the machine
die, and reboot from scratch (hoping the file system
recovers).

I checked and there's no relation to power management
settings.
