When I enable "validate users by email" and use "wiki
only" authentication, after a new user registers
successfully and sees the "you'll get email notification
for the first-time login", the registration email is never
sent out to the valid email address. Tried twice on two
different valid email addresses and still no email.
I did not find any documentation on how to set up email
servers in Tiki. So, this bug may be due to my lack of
experience/knowledge on how to configure. I apologize if
that is the case, but please point out where I should set
up the SMTP email servers correctly in order to receive
emails.
(additional info: after the user registers, the "provpass"
field/column in users_users table in mysql tiki database
contains the plain-text password that the user just
entered, but it stays that way. The registration email is
not sent.)
Thanks for a great application!

There is no Tiki-specific config, everything is in php.ini.
Please reopen after finding more info, e.g. do other mail
notifications work (example Wiki page update that is monitored).
More generally please use an account to open a tracker
you're unsure about, and ask on IRC #tikiwiki and support
forums if possible.
