User Reviews

  • As a long-time (decades!) user of tgif I'm maybe not the right one to rate it. It has some limitations and quirks due to its history, but it does its job well. I'm glad it's still existing and I'm using it in my work and also for non-work purposes.
  • TGIF is a nice and easy to learn and use program. It draws vector-style graphics. With that an electrical schematic or a layout for a PCB can be created in short time, without having to start elefant software that offers too many options and therefore is hard to understand and to handle for a beginner. With TGIF you have all under your own control, you are not limited to what the software designer has designed for you. With colored layers you can choose what you see and what your exported drawing includes. Export your drawings to roughly ten different graphical formats and use external printing tools that exactly reproduce your drawing in the correct PCB size, ready to expose your foto-sensitive PCB. Unfortunately this simple and straight-forward piece of software is only available for linux/unix, another good argument to boot the linux partition from time to time.
