Currently using TeXstudio 2.8.6 from: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/jsundermeyer/xUbuntu_14.04/amd64/texstudio_2.8.6_amd64.deb
Ubuntu 14.04 64bit
Setting "Delete left character" to both Backspace and Shift+Backspace is desirable so that one doesn't need to release the shift key just to remove the last typed character. This is the default behavior of most text editors.
The "Additional Shortcut" field is not enabled for "Delete left character". While I can create a second definition for "Delete left character", one of the two definition is deleted when TeXstudio is restarted.
So, this feature request can be handled in either of two ways I suppose:
1) Enable the Additional Shortcut field for functions defined under Editor > Basic Key Mapping.
2) Allow a function to be defined multiple times under Editor > Basic Key Mapping.
Anonymous
2) is implemented. There is an entry "add row" at the bottom of the shortcut list for Basic Key Mapping.
@Tim Hoffmann: I think you missed this part of the description: "While I can create a second definition for "Delete left character", one of the two definition is deleted when TeXstudio is restarted."
Indeed, I missed that. This is a bug.
