No

I offen get an additional character if I type a backslash in TeXstudio. I changed my keyboard, that didn't help. I don't recognize this behavior in other programms. (Windows 7)

    • Which version of TeXstudio?
    • Which keyboard layout (language) do you use?
    • Is it reproducible?
    • Do you have any "helper programs" installed which might interfer with typing?

    Version 2.10.2, 2.10.0 and 2.9.4
    Layout: DE (german)
It happens on my desktop as well as on my notebook (Win 7 Ultimate, Win 7 Home)
Not reproducible, happens from time to time.
"As far as I know" I have no helper programms installed.

Additional info: The additional characters after the backslash are always special characters like smiley, circle, square, ...

Does it only happen in the editor or as well for other input controls in TXS; e.g. try the text edit controls at the dialog File -> Make Template.

It seems to happen only in the editor.

Without a way to reproduce this, it's almost impossible to debug.

How severe is this, i.e. how often does it happen?

I know. I'll test TXS on another notebook running Windows 7 Professional soon. I report if it happens there too.

On my desktop an old notebook, in happens more or less 5 to 10 times per hour.

I confirm on win10 TeXstudio 2.10.8, but it was happening also on win7 and on previous versions of TexStudio
Exactly the same kind of special characters inserted. For me it's happennig when typing (quite diffcult to reproduce), but also in a much more reproducible way when I'm moving the windows using the shorcuts Ctrl+Alt+numeric keypad and the software Winsplit.

I would be interested to know if others on this thread are using such shotcuts

quite obviously no. I've beens earching about such information but to be honest searching "texstudio special character" is too vague

So thx Is there a way to disable that?.
