#1294 Log file not found when period in filename (2)

I have a tex file whose filename contains a few periods (say, a.b.c.d.e.tex). After compilation, Texstudio (2.9.4, Windows or linux) reports that it cannot find the logfile. Procmon reveals that Texstudio looks for a.log (rather than a.b.c.d.e.log).

After the previous bug report, I have updated to 2.9.4 but the problem persists. To reproduce:
- create a file a.b.c.d.e.tex
- write 'test'
- compile
- open the log tab
