#1289 save generates file with only relax tag

Not sure if its a bug, but reporting it just in case
saving as a .tex file generated another file in the same directory .aux
with a lone /relax tag and nothing else.
from the log:
PDFLATEX: pdflatex -version
pdfTeX 3.1415926-2.5-1.40.14 (TeX Live 2013/Debian)
kpathsea version 6.1.1...

The only way to get an aux file would be calling pdflatex (or similar tools). We do not directly generate aux files. Therefore I consider it highly improbable that the aux file is generated by the save operation. Please verify that this is really the case. If so, does it only happen for tex files or for any file?
