OS X 10.9.5 using texstudio_2.8.8_osx_qt5

If I use New from Template, select the builtin type of Book, instead of getting content, a TeX_files folder is created but it's chmod 000 across the board and no content exists inside of it.

I control-clicked on the texstudio.app and in the Contents/Resources folder, I see

  • template_Book.json
  • template_Book.png
  • template_Book.zip

This appears to be in contrast to the working template_Article which has a .tex file instead of the .zip. It is a zip though, I confirmed that. I snagged 2.8.6 and confirmed the behaviour is the same there.

Am I doing something wrong with using the package?

The files and your approach are correct so far. Templates can either be single-file (.tex) or multi-file (.zip).

TeX_files is actually in template_Book.zip. We seem to have an issue with the perissions when extracting a folder in the zip. There should be other files inserted into the unzipped folder, but it fails because there are no write permissions.

fixed by updating quazip to 0.7.1

    hg 4918 (ab28f543929b)
