Starting from TeXstudio 2.6.6 (hg 4105+:b24377c712d7+) (not included), Chinese characters entering meets ERROR! TeXstudio seems automatically add a space for every Chinese character at the end of a line. The more characters we enter, more spaces are added, which cause the cursor faraway form the characters. Location with the cursor become more and more difficulty. The characters like playing hide and seek with the cursor.

    Sorry about the omission message.
    I am using Windows 8.1 X64 Chinese.
I have tried every versions of TEXStudio include present version 2.8.6.
They all have the same problem except TeXstudio 2.6.6 (hg 4105+:b24377c712d7+).
I like TeXstudio because the idea of building a special tools for LATEX.
It must better than using WinEdit directly.
So I follow your update but stuck in 2.6.6, because the ERROR I reported.
Wish you can solve the problem quickly.

    which input method !?
I don't know exactly what you are talking about.
I knew I should use UTF-8 encoding, but unfortunately it can't recognize Chinese(Chinese characters show as Garbled). But a special choice in TeXstudio 2.6.6 is System encoding that can fix this problem. In 2.8.6., I have to use GBK encoding to fix the Garbled problem, but this seem noting to du with the problem I reported.

    I'm sorry, silly!
I think you are asking some professional computer science concepts.
I am using Microsoft Pinyin. Why? Because it is built-in with Win8.1.
But I don’t think the problem related with input method, I also use Google Pinyin and QQ Pinyin, the problem still.
And I am using traditional laptop, not some fashion touch pads.

I cannot reproduce it with TXS 2.8.6 on Win7 with Microsoft Pinyin (no Win8.1 available for test).

Since this started with TXS 2.7.0 it might be a Qt5 issue (which is the default Qt version since 2.7.0). Please try the Qt4 build of TXS 2.8.6 Qt4 build of TXS 2.8.8.

Note: Usually, you can install one TXS version on top of the other. However, when switching between Qt4 and Qt5, we strongly recommend that you uninstall an existing version first. When uninstalling, it's ok to keep your settings.
