Hi I am trying to port swarm simulation toolkit (http://www.swarm.org) to MacOsX (actually it wuns on Mac with X11). It requires Tcl/Tk and BLT to run it. Has someone thought to do the porting of BLT to OsX? Is there a Xcode project of the BLT? Wating for your answer, Regards. Alex, There's not much to porting BLT to Mac OS X other than (re)compiling the BLT sources. It's included in the ActiveTCL distribution, if I'm not mistaken, as well as in our distribution of BRL-CAD. In our release, there are a few (rather minor) 64-bit issues and compiler warnings taken care of, but even the primary version should pretty much work as you'd hope: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=18616 If you'd like help compiling the BRL-CAD's (re)distribution of BLT (which includes autotoolsification of the BLT build system), feel free to stop by the #brlcad irc channel on irc.freenode.net. There is a web-based IRC interface to our channel available at http://irc.brlcad.org/. As far as I know, there's not an Xcode project specifically for just BLT, but it may be bundled in as part of one of the various kitchen sink tcl/tk bundles. Hope something in all of that helps. Actually, I don't _think_ BLT is a part of ActiveTcl... At least as of a year or so ago. There used to be a problem with it not making use of the Stubs interface. I believe there is = something like that in the mythical BLT 3.0 that has never officially seen the = light of day. It also requires stubs support (again, in 3.0). Ah, I stand corrected and good to know regarding the complications with being integrated as an extension. I also hadn't considered the BLT Aqua native issues either, though I had noticed the relatively recent mac commits too. There certainly is still commit activity going on so perhaps the 3.0 myth with stabilize at some point. Shame there aren't more devs added to the project, there seems to be quite a few build contributions in the trackers that are unaddressed. Cheers! Yes, it should also be considered that there is no full Aqua port of = BLT. You would have to use the X11 side (ActiveTcl ships Aqua bits only).
