In Unix 'tail -f', one can press <enter> a few times to
insert a few blank lines into the output. This helps
distinguish the 'latest' log output from the rest. In Unix,
one can also type plain text which is inserted into the log
output, eg. "dogey operation begins here..."
Such a feature, or the 'clear screen' (mentioned above)
would be great.
