Why not have the sync and analyze functions run in a separate process so the GUI can report on what they are doing without freezing and causing visual C++ to freak out?
I am currently trying to sync a large amount of files (3-4TB) and Synkron will occasionally freeze up and then I will have to check by other means to see if it is still running. Sometimes it is and sometimes it is not. It seems though that if the GUI was running in its own service and monitoring the actual worker process then it could restart it if the worker ever froze up allowing the sync to continue.
Just a thought,
