I was using Xubuntu 14.04.2 on AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4800+ with at AMD/ATI Radeon HD 5570 PCIe graphics card. I installed the sweethome3d 4.3+dfsg-1 install from the Ubuntu Software Centre. After adding the code suggested in the FAQ, -Dcom.eteks.sweethome3d.no3D=true -jar path/to/SweetHome3D-4.6.jar, to the executable script, all went well.
However, I wanted to use some of the newer features, such as some imported 3D models, so I uninstalled the old version and manually installed the latest 4.6 from your site. Install worked okay.
However, the program opens to the splash screen and does nothing else.
I believe there is a flaw in the graphics card identification routine.
Thanks.
