Surface Chat is a new web interface for Jabber that aims to provide a simple interface for Jabber servers without requiring major overhead. Surface Chat employs a lightweight interface which lies above the content of the page and is easily moved or closed to suit the user's needs. SC is currently a beta project and is looking for skilled web developers to examine and improve its code. Future releases seek to include emoticons, rich editing, and persistence across multiple pages.
