which is exactly the idea behind of the USE_VALGRIND flag, ie, in what cases it is worthwhile or necessary set this flag?.
I thought that this flag allows to Valgrind generates more accurate error messages regarding the stxxl library, but I really do not know if I'm right... I am or not?.

What is needed (besides having Valgrind installed) to use the USE_VALGRIND flag?.
I try to activate this flag during the construction and installation of stxxl, but I failed when they were building the tests.
