I have installed the streamripper years ago but haven't used it, basically because the only reason I would use it is to record programs of Internet Radio Stations while I am at work, or sleeping. My harddisk runs out of space if I let the ripper run for 10 hours every time I am interested in 1 hour of program in the middle of a working day or the middle of the night...

You can accomplish this with the built-in Windows Task Scheduler, or with cron jobs.
