With the last SVN, something like scale abs=0.5, rel=0.70 could make it. Just play with the two parameters in the view window. I can't seem to match the point object results very well. The planets in particular never get small enough without too many stars being visible. Look at Venus at 180 degree fov for example. I believe we have some customers who are using it, so I would like to keep it. It produces the smallest point objects that some people crave. It seems to be working in SVN, except for not affecting planets. Do not confuse point stars with point sprites. point stars: each star is a single pixel on purpose. Rob needs this. gl_point_sprite: Hardware acceleration used for drawing ordinar stars faster. Works very wel,l when the driver/card is not broken. ATI is broken: that means the driver claims that gl_point_sprite is supported, but the stars look ugly. So I have a config.ini option for fallback to rendering with GL_QUADs. We must keep both point stars and gl_point_sprite.
