User Reviews

  • Just putting this review in to note difficulties in building. I found the Linux 64 bit binary didn't run because of libcurl 3/4 problems which I couldn't fix even by installing special dual version libcurl. So I tried to build from source, instructions are good, I installed Code::Blocks just for the purpose, rather than re-generate all the build config, but had some basic issues: had to add -Wno-narrowing and copy some headers from Irrlicht to the main code so they were reachable and then download some valgrind headers too but then the build failed with "SpaceCombat/Space/code/SWorld.cpp:2115:46: error: call of overloaded ‘abs(irr::u32)’ is ambiguous". BTW, I p****vered, fixed some type casting problems and added sym links and copied files to fix linking problems and eventually it complied, but there was a run-time fault to do with X11. It looks like the last review was 2015 so not sure how active this is but I felt like I almost got the build working.
  • It looks great, but if you want to play it. You will need to compile it. I spend 15 hours trying to get this to work, I downloaded the exe, and installed. The check files screen pops up and you have to get another 20 some files. Well after the 3rd time of letting the program self download I went and downloaded all the files into a separate directory and copied them over to the programs installed location, unzipped and with high hopes clicked the icon on the desktop. 27 times the file checker ran each time starting at the First file even though I would copy the whole mess into the games directory and unzip. Just forget it,
  • Thanks for Spacecombatgame, it's perfect!
