I posted this to the mailing list, but am also adding
it here for completeness.
Current sodipodi cvs has a crash/abort when using in
the plain printing dialog. The dialog looks like it
wants to take a LPR print queue name, but it
crashes/aborts on a SIGPIPE when I put the queue name
in there. I've created a patch that adds *real* simple
signal handling for the printer output stream and
attempts to close down the print process more
gracefully. I also changed the dialog to add the "-P"
for the lpr command line so specifying a print queue works.
Patch to add SIGPIPE detection for print output
