#68 Slashdot cluttered screen

Problem: slashdot currently features lots of columns (e.g. "Slashdot login", "Interviews", "Older stuff", etc..). This tends to cloud the users screen, and not everybody is interested in all these items.

Solution: A very neat way of solving the above problem is shown at http://www.startpagina.nl/. They also have a lot of columns, but each contains a sort of "close window" button". Anyway, please have a look at http://www.startpagina.nl/, no further explanation is needed here....

Ok, so you're gonna tell me slashdot is cluttered and then send me to a site that is EVEN MORE CLUTTERED?!?

Try making an account on Slashdot and you'll see that our boxes have even more functionality than that other page.

This doesn't seem like a bug. I recommend we close this one by 6/04 if there is no further response on it.

It is entirely configurable, and people can close each one (once logged in and preferences have been made) with a close window button.
