Hi there, dunno if you're interested in, but bobbocanfly (http://sourceforge.net/users/bobbocanfly/) - a FreeBand developer - ported SimpleStat to pure PHP (no Perl), check it out:

Last but not least it could be interesting to establish some kind of collaboration between those two projects, in order to help each other to grow.
