I seem to be having a problem with authenticating to
an exchange server that uses forms-based
authentication over SSL. When setting up the
profile "receiving email" I set it to "microsoft
exchange" enter my username as domain\user (also
tried user@domain and OWA URL of
https://server.domain.com/exchange. I have tried
authentication type of secure password and plaintext
password. With these options I always get the error
message "Could not connect to server.:make sure the
URL is correct and try again". Any thoughts?

I get the same error. The exchange server is set up for OWA.
I was really looking forward to using Evolution too.

Has any one tested to see if Evolution was built with SSL support in libsoup?

Yep, same here. Can't authenticate to an HTTPS OWA URL. Shame.

Same problem... Damn... OWA is not really much good if it's not SSL.

    Looks like configure.in line 133 says "... --enable-ssl ...".

    This is in "evolution-2.8.2-1-source.zip\libsoup-2.2.96.tar.gz\libsoup-2.2.96.tar\libsoup-2.2.96\".

I assume this means that SSL should be compiled in. Any ideas where it's gone wrong?

That line in configure.in means that it should be compiled in by default, BUT that doesn't mean that when it was built SSL support was disabled. On Linux it would be easy to build SSL support in since GNUTLS is easy to build on Linux. Libraries become harder to build on Windows if the developers didn't try to develop with it in mind. I believe that libsoup uses GNUTLS as its SSL backend, and I don't see GNUTLS in the sources zip.

I get the same error too guys and gals. Markybob...any chance at getting on the stick and looking into this SSL forms based authentication problem? You must not be using it at your job...you'd think you would be though...?

Thanks for all your hard work...
