SDLRoads Mac Build

In an effort to make getting SDLRoads running a little easier, I've built a Mac Bundle for SDLRoads. Click, untar, and play! It couldn't get any easier! Note that changing tracks requires you to edit a file (after you have played SDLRoads the first time, the file will be created). 0.09 released

The second development snapshot release has been added. So far I have the source package and a precompiled linux binary. I don't have a win32 binary quite yet. I still can't quite remember how I included my OpenGL libraries in MinGW...

Tarball size reduced, some binaries released

The tarballs [and zip] are down to 1-2 MB. I added a binary of the linux version, and a binary compiled for windows. The linux one offers little advantage over the source package, since you still need to have all the libraries installed to play.

Let me know if you have any problems!

Smaller tarball is underway

I apologize for the ~11 MB tarball we put up. The image files we were using were PNG format (lossless). On somewhat simple images the compression is quite effective. On complicated deep-space scenes, however, it's basically uncompressed. As of now, we're distributing a dozen images that are each about a megabyte.

I recently started using the IMG_Load function from SDL_image, which loads images of various formats. I recompressed the images as JPEGs, and created a new tarball that was about a megabyte. I'll get it posted as soon as I get the chance.... read more
