Hi :)

I'm using last nightly ScummVM version 1.7.0git6325 under Windows.

French version of Mortville Manor (Manoir de Mortevielle) is not detected at all because it seems like files layout is different from English version.

Please what information will you need to be able to detect it ?

I can provide files, files listing and MD5.

Thanks

This is the DOS version? (only the DOS version is working)
Have you copied all the files to the same directory, which is what ScummVM expect?

If the answer to the two questions above is yes, please attach the file listing with the file size. We will also need the MD5 for the first 512 bytes of the menufr.mor and dxx.mor files, assuming you have those two files, and otherwise for all the files.

By the way, there was actually no English DOS version. We provide an English version by patching on the fly either the French or the German one. So if you managed to get your version detected it will let you choose between English or French.

As the user has not responded, I am going to set this bug to pending. If no further response is received within 14 days, the bug will be automatically closed.

@Kervala: Please could you attach a text file to this bug
containing a file listing of your Manoir de Mortevielle datafiles, with file md5sums? The output of a tool such as this: http://md5summer.org or other tool from http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/Reporting_unknown_MD5_checksums would be optimal.

Hello, I have the same problem. Here are the files md5:
    {"menu.mor", 0, "3fef0a3f8fca99fdcb6dbca8cbcef46f", 160},
    {"dxx.mor", 0, "949e68e829ecd5ad29e36a00347a9e7e", 207744},

you can notice the file is not menufr.mor but menu.mor.
    I hope this help

I'm extremely surprised you have only menu.mor and not menufr.mor, as in the versions Lenkhor sent me, menu.mor was never left alone. Furthermore, the size of menu.mor is always wrong (160 bytes). The normal size is 144 bytes, which represents 24 * 6 characters (6 menus, 24 entries per menu).

So, I expect problems in the game :)

Anyway, I added the detection entry. the md5 of dxx.mor is the same than the current French version.
It should be available in the next nighly build.

Could you have a look at the result and tell if the game is playable?

    Thanks in advance!

I have attached a text file with a ASCII representation of both menufr.mor and menu.mor.

The menu.mor file uses 10 lines instead of 8 and one of the menu is wider. But more importantly the last menu ('Fic') is missing. I have always wondered why it was there. Maybe that is an earlier version of the menu that was not removed.

ScummVM does not currently use menu.mor and expects to find menufr.mor. So I would be surprised as well if this actually works now the detection has been added.

One solution would be to add the french menu in the mort.dat file distributed with ScummVM. Currently the files only contains the german and english menu. I am worried however there may be more differences with that version of the game.

Also I just had a look at the screenshot of the DOS version on MobyGames and it uses menu.mor (so for example there is no 'Fic' menu to save/load a game). This might be the same version as the one here.
