I have the same problem ("The value #\ą is not of type BASE-CHAR") - see

However I think it's clsql/sbcl interaction issue - I have no problem
using my native character set (polish) for other purposes (see detailed
description in clsql-help post) except using it to access PostgreSQL
Can someone determine if it's a bug? Feature? Can it be worked around?
Any hints will be appreciated.
