#41 Foobar skips between tracks

I am using Foobar and the latest "foo_input_sacd" and "foo_dsd_asio" components on my PCs, but I do have a playback problem when playing DSD content to my (Mytek) DAC (be it via ASIO or DoP and Myteks drivers, or via DoP using a RME HDSP9632 card).

Foobar skips exactly the time set under Preferences / Output / Buffer on playback, no matter what I have tried.

It could be checked for by setting the buffer to a quite high value (i.e. 10000ms).
As soon the playback reaches the remaining time equally to the buffer setting, Foobar starts playing the new track, and skips the remaining time of the last one.

Even when i set the buffer to the absolute minimum setting, this produces a glitch in the playback stream, which in many cases is even easy to spot while listening to it, because it causes to produce some clicks/ticks during the transition between tracks.

Do you have a clue, whats happening here?

I'm so glad someone else is having the same issue! I see it as well.

So to clarify the issue, if the output buffer length is 10000ms (ie. 10s), then 10ms before the end of the track, it will skip to the next track.

I'm also using a Mytek DAC. It only occurs when outputting DSD. Using foo_input_sacd to convert to PCM on-the-fly, the issue doesn't occur. The issue occurs with the Edited Master Playback option both on and off.

The issue doesn't occur with version 0.6.5. It appears to be new for 0.6.6.

I have made some additional tests, and came to the conclusion that this may be related to version 0.6.6 of the SACD decoder plugin (foo_input_sacd).

If I just replace the newer version (0.6.6) with the older one, restart Foobar and leave al of the settings and drivers etc. as they were set before, the skipping is avoided.

But this still needs some further testing!

After more albums and tracks played with version 0.6.5, it still works without problems. No clicks due to cut tracks and perfekt track transitions.
So currently one should use 0.6.5 instead of 0.6.6 ...

0.7.1 has fixed this problem.
Tested with about 30 different albums so far, and up to now no problems ...
