In some days, I'll put a python wrapper for tibrvtx (the transactional extension for TIB/Rendezvous) onto sourceforge. Currently, a 'first shot' is already working. It's built upon the rvpython module for Rendezvous 6 and provides an API similar to the existing Rendezvous 5 - like python classes.
A first release for rvpython for TIB/Rendezvous 6 has been entered into the CVS repository.
It's a complete rewrite of the module, based on the rv6 C API, and with a 'thick' python layer.
The python layer exposes almost exactly the same API to python as the rv5 version, making it extremely easy to move existing programs to the new TIBRV release.
The C wrapper code is generated by swig (version 1.1p5).
ok, here it is - lots of features and bug corrections. Since the Rendezvous 5 development has been discontinued, there's nothing to add any more.
A source tarball and binary distributions for linux and solaris will be added soon.
in a few days. i'll provide
- the last, feature-complete rv5 C++ based version
- a beta rv6/C/swig-based version, exposing the rv5 programming intreface to python (by kind of emulation)
ok, tib programming folks, it's there ...
comments are welcome!
