#449 --program-suffix configure option - bad idea!!

This is more documentation of a minor issue than a
request for anything to change. The configure options
for transforms on program name
(--program-suffix=SUFFIX, ...) don't carry through to
internal identifiers, so "clever" use of prefixes and
suffixes to isolate different operating environments is
a recipe for disaster. The cost of implementing
changes to accommodate the expected behaviour looks to
be unreasonable compared to the potential benefits, so
this "bug" should be closed with a note:- "You must
never DO that!!".
