You can already do this using the File->Save As Multiple
Files feature. It splits a track based on cues with special
names. You can read the 'Explain' button on that feature
for instructions.
Also you can combine this with the Looping->Add N Cues and
Looping->Add Timed Cues features to perhaps automate some
too.
