Hm, I'm not sure what you are referring to. Maybe the General Settings are not there anymore because they have been renamed in the latest versions. I can only see Advanced Settings:
/admin/config.php?display=advancedsettings
Are you looking for a specific parameter?

No email address for online update checks
You are automatically checking for online updates nightly but you have no email address setup to send the results. This can be set on the General Tab. They will continue to show up here.

I see now what you mean. I suppose you have installed the 2.11.0 beta version of FreePBX with apt-get? This version in fact is missing the General Settings page. Thank you for finding this.
This seems to be a bug in the FreePBX beta version itself. We need to wait for an update provided by the developers.
The last image from the downloads page, dated Nov 4th is however still shipping with version 2.10.1.2, and the General Settings page can be found there.

Why is there no "General Settings" button in the menus ?
When I try to browse there like I would on another system http://<host>/admin/config.php?display=general I get sent to a 404 page not found?

This is not a bug. All "General Settings" were moved into "Advanced Settings".
The email can be changed in "Module Admin" by clicking on the giant security shield.
