There seems to be an issue with connecting to an invalid ip, especially for ip's for which the dns resolution fails.

The connection attempt never gets timedout and so a new reconnection attempt is also not made.

We have observed this issue on both windows 64 and solaris amd64.

Additionally on Solaris amd64, it can also be observed while connecting to the loopback interface.

In both cases, we can see the library is trying to connect to the ip, but there will be no updates after that.
