User Reviews

  • Very useful :) I can finally found the PERFECT Qemu interface ;)
  • I found that once the virtual machine had been created I could not start the FreeDOS installer within QtEmu either from a floppy image or an ISO. I did manage to start the FreeDOS installer within QtEmu from a CD burnt from the ISO. When I close the application QtEmu stays in memory and uses 97% of CPU time and the process has to be stopped with the Task Manager. I am using Windows XP SP3 which it must support since it was released in 2007. QtEmu can only open IMG and ISO images (if it can open them at all). It cannot open IMA, VHD and VFD images. Not impressed. Another complete waste of time from Sourceforge. Update 01-December-2016: Tried it again having forgotten how useless it was the first time I tried it. I attempted to open an ISO of the Reactos 0.4.3 installation but after booting from the ISO and drivers were loaded the VM window went black and CPU usage stuck at 100%. Further examination of the application reveals that it is so out of date that it uses qemu version 0.90.0, and it provides a rather limited set of options. I recommend QemuManager as an alternative, although it's bundled kqemu accelerator driver only works with Linux 2.4 and Windows 2000/XP .
  • Used it for a Windows XP virtual machine, works great and no problems (besides not being able to mount native CDs, but it wasn't an issue for me).
