QSFM Quick Soundfont Manager / News: Recent posts

Today we celebrate two things:
First the release of the final Version 1.0.0.
Second the 600th download of qsfm at all.

We thanks all who have contributed to made this release possible. Especially thanks to Monika und Wilhelm Leibold. And as usual thanks to Toni Graffy for the great openSUSE RPMs.

QSFM QuickSoundFontManager is a GUI for (a)sfxload, a commandline tool on Linux, or Fluidsynth, to quick load several SF2 soundfonts in a EMU10k chip or a software wavetable synth, as a Linux alternative to the win32-only Creative® Soundfont Bankmanager.

I would announce, that the second (and last) ReleaseCandidate Version 0.9.9rc2 has been released.
This contains only two minor bugfixes but one urgent required core-change for stability. A positive side-effect of this was also an explicit preload acceleration.... read more

I'm very happy to announce that QSFM has build its first release candidate, version 0.9.8rc1.
QSFM - QuickSoundFontManager is a GUI for asfxload and fluidsynth.

One major feature is the new online-help. You can open its window via
the Help menu > Qsfm Manual. The text is still incomplete but I'm currently
active writing on it - except just exactly now ;).
Another improvement is the possibility, to build packages for debian and derived distributions such as KUbuntu, Knoppix, Freespire and many others. ... read more

This is the last beta before the release phase of the upcoming version 1.0,
which means no more significant changes will be applied to the GUI. You can
see the visual changes in this version in the screenshot below. The most
important features  unfortunately cannot be shown in a static screenshot.
These are:
Firstly: The KaConnect window will - optionally - open on QSFM startup to
reconnect the most recently used MIDI device connections, and
Secondly: The window will - also optionally - close automatically after 4
seconds.
This feature is very useful if used with touch-screen as intended.... read more

Hi,
I am happy to announce that version 0.9.6 beta 3 of qsfm, a GUI-project for soundfont loading via asfxload has been released.
This third beta release contains several minor and two more evident enhancements as well as some bugfixes. The first recognizable enhancement is the volume slider, whose adjustment currently only operates in asfxload mode and will only be applied when the soundfonts have been loaded again. The second improvement is the QSFM-Kaconnect dialog close button. The other changes are logged in the ChangeLog file:

The second Beta of the QSFM - Quick Soundfont Manager is released.

QSFM - Quick Soundfont Manager is a GUI for asfxload or Fluidsynth on Linux.

This release contains many new things, such as the embedded components
QSFM-Kaconnect and Qlaviatur, auto-open of the last recent used folder,
Konqueror Action-menu integration and more.
There are also fixed all known Bugs. i.e. that the fluidsynth connector
didn't unload soundfonts and few others.
This release is partially intensely tested and therefore released for use
in production environments in a limited way but without any warranty.

The first step of a usable version of the new architecture is finished. The sources are checked in and therefore I will build a new tarball of these cvs-version as preview or RFC.

The first feature complete source release has been published. But this is based on the old plain design. It is just to compare before and after ;)
Have fun!
The complete redesign progress is at 25%. And there is a lot of work left.
Next days I will commit the big changes I have made last weeks.
