(On QMC2 v.0.2.b6, QT v4.3.4, Kubuntu Hardy AMD64, KDE v.3.5.10, Kernel v.2.6.24-22-generic).
I've enabled (=true) the cheat option and I tried both pointing to the cheat containing folder and to individual cheat files.
(I tried both CHEATS.DAT (Pugsy's one) and CHEATS.ZIP (with the new XML format)).
Seems like the configuration is OK, and I'm just missing something, interface related. :-(
Any hints? :-)

Well, cheats are nothing interface related :)... you only need to setup the "cheatpath" parameter (and cheat=true, as yo already did). But I'm not sure how cheats need to be stored in that path / directory... that's MAME related :)!
Hope this helps, René
