Using version 0.9.7 entering "50MByte = x byte" I get x = 50000000 as a result. Shouldn't it be 52428800?

    No. "M" means one million. Try "50 MiByte" for that. "Mi" is the prefix to use for "binary mega" rather than the SI one.
