Now I hace included a QUICKSTART file that will help any user to install PyIDS.
The versioning format has been changed.
Now we have more control specifying the files to be checksum monitored.
The ssh logs in /var/secure/log now are being monitored sending a summary of attacks to the email address.
A new version of PyIDS has been released. In this version the main improvements were some bug corrections and some code refactoring. A battery of test have been coded (and can be found at the CVS) but not enough to avoid the bugs so any feedbak would be appreciated.
The project is in a very early phase but any kind of feedback will be appreciated.
You can post your feedback through the PyIDS Sourceforge webpage, i.e the forums or sending me an email to florencio.cano@gmail.com
Thanks in advance.
The main advance in this release is the addition of a sort README file and a pair or corrections.
This first version is released looking for some community interest. No documentation is ready yet but executing 'python main.py -h' will give some hints right now. Comprenssive documentation will be released soon.
Any feedback in this early stage will be very appreciated.
