This request is to upgrade the version of jython included with Pydev. Right now it is 2.1 and I would like it updated to 2.5.2. Reason is that I use the embedded version to communicate in the console (start console with JVM started from eclipse) and there are some features missing. I tried upgrading myself but there are some compatibility problems (jython API changes which were minor and a problem with console output that I could not figure out).
2.2.1 is now included.
I think that ideally NO version should be included at all
- many PyDev users may not need it
- any external version of Jython should ideally be able to be used
