Installation fails in two different ways using pydev.org/updates

Eclipse SDK
Version: 3.4.0
Build id: I20080617-2000
OpenSUSE 11.2
HP Pavilion

First: during install using software update
An error occurred while installing the items
Error saving manipulator.
/usr/share/eclipse/eclipse.ini (Permission denied)

Second: Before downloading update
An error occurred while collecting items to be installed

java.lang.NullPointerException

It seems to be random when retrying

(Note: Yesterday it was failing trying to install the x86_64 code I think)

Unfortunately, this doesn't see like a pydev issue, but an eclipse issue (so, please report that to the bugs at eclipse.org -- although you may want to try with the latest eclipse version before doing so).
