From Juergen:

AFAICS, the way pybliographer writes the bibtex month
field is currently harcoded in BibTeX.py, L. 493 and 513:
month = '{%d } # %s' % (date.day, month)

This means that the day of a month is always followed
by a blank and thus makes the month field unusable for,
e.g., german documents, where the day is always
followed by a dot (without blank): 10.02.2004, 10.
Februar 2004.

Would it be possible to get rid of that blank or make
it at least
configurable?

    I added a config option (in bibtex+); however it is possible
    to write a date that won't be read back by the application.
