Hello,

I noticed that during the last view weeks serveral patches written in assembler for SPARC-architecture where applied to the Mesa3D-project to increase OpenGL performance on these machines.
I am wondering if someone thought about doing the same for PowerPC-architecture. I have both here: P-III-500 and G3-400, both with Rage128 adaptor. I noticed, that the i386 machine is _five_ times faster (600 fps) in "gears"-demo as my mac (120 fps). I'm using the same X-windows version on both machines. The leak of assembler support is truely only a part of expaination for this difference.
I think there could be a great performance boost for OpenGL applications on PowerPC's (also think of Altivec), so it would make sense to spent a tought on it. What do you mean?
