Create a blog entry
View it.
In MiniAdmin click 'Categorize'
The popup categorize window should appear.
The Add/Remove interface is unclear and doesn't let you see which categories are available or selected without you clicking on the dropdown.
A non-drop down list would be better and allow multiselection.
ie. like the old 0.10.x users/groups selection tool.
The 'Quick Add' feature is great for quickly adding a category but it's unclear to the user what the dropdown list on the left of it is for as there is no label.
I'd suggest changing the user interface to...
New Category Title [.........]
Parent Category [list of categories dropdown]
[Add button]
Possibly in a fieldset titled 'Add a New Category'
Lastly the buttons are badly labelled, badly positioned and misleading.
'Save and close' - this is redundant since any changes are done already in the rest of the UI.
'Cancel' - Doesn't actually do a cancel since any changes you've made are done as you make them and are not cancelled by hitting this button.
I'd suggest just removing these two buttons and letting the user click the window close gadget OR you do not make changes in real time and you have an 'Apply' button to apply the changes and a 'Cancel' button
Next, when the window is closed, the original blog entry should be refreshed to show that the categories have changed.
I edited popup_menu.tpl to be closer to the above suggestions
