Hi Everyone:
I was looking for a hot back for mysql and came across phpMyBackupPro. Also, I found Percona XtraxBackup.
Bot utils sound good but I would prefer the one with GUI (phpMyBackupPro) because I am new to linux.
So please I need your help to tell me how they compare to each other.
Example:
XtraBackup - Can do hot backup of active mysql.
Is this the same with phpMyBackupPro?
XtraBackup - If mysql db is InnoDB then only the rows in insert and update mode are locked.
If mysql db is MyISAM then entire table is locked.
Is this behavior same as phpMyBackupPro?
Which one will be easier to restore phpMyBackupPro or XtraxBackup?
XtraxBackup has some doc discussing backup prepare before restore, I am not clear with that.
Please your help will be appreciated.
