#22 byass default login page

In 2000, a posting has put out on phpbuilder.com that
includes an alternate 'auth_preauth' function
(http://www.phpbuilder.com/lists/phplib-
list/200002/0324.php). This is for using your own login
form on a page instead of having the defuly form appear
when you access a protected resource. I added the
function to my extension of the auth class, but it
doesn't execute when logging in.

Can anyone tell me how to do this?
