Feature Wishlist

A new feature wishlist has been posted, we are accepting new developers for both MMCache and PHPcoder, the web based front end.

Among other these features have been requested for PHPCoder v. 2.

PHP Coder version 2.0 Features:

#1 Use plain text XML configuration Files
#2 Incorporate Smarty template engine for better application/visual seperation
#3 No longer requires source directory to be writable
#4 Ability to skip file types, specific files, and specific directories
#5 Re-designed class interface in preperation for PHP 5
#6 Use of PEAR error handling
#7 Adoption of PEAR PHP Code Guidelines
#8 Modular encoder class, capable of supporting encoders other than Turck MMCache
#9 New UI, more extensive use of CSS
#10 Provide own message or default message on lack of loader
#11 Easy way to alter PHP specific options through set_ini automatically
#12 PHP Pre-Processor Support
#13 Support for copying files that are not in the original source tree
#14 Support for prepending/appending multiple files to each source file such as licenses automatically
#15 Support for not encoding (Pre-Processor Only Mode)
#16 Handle symbolic links properly, keep track of what files have already been encoded/processed and only process them once.
#17 All PHPCoder code in PHPDoc format for easy manual generation
#18 Ability to save encoder settings to cookie, or to downloaded file (project management)

Over 15000 downloads since July

There have been over 15,000 downloads of phpcoder from shadonet.com since July of 2003 (when I started keeping track).

On freashmeat we have had over 4200 record hits and 3500 url hits since we posted the project.

We have had over 1200 Downloads from phpclasses.org, putting our total download count for since July around 16,000!

phpcoder moves to sourceforge

SourceForge is the new home of phpcoder. All download links are being updated and phpcoder.shadonet.com now forwards to http://phpcoder.sourceforge.net

ghotix joins phpcoder Project

ghotix has joined the phpcoder project and has started active development for the next release of phpcoder.
