In that case my advice is for a Garmin, i'm sure you can find some cheam ones in that price range. Most of them obbey to the GRMN protocol, which is already implemented, and you can download it from CPAN or from the project page in sourceforge.=20 You can also use tracking records, Garmin devices store around 1024 points, with lat,lon and timestamp, which you can download afterwards. Well my first question is What GPS to buy :) I have a pIII 800 laptop, i want to buy somehting in the 200-300$cdn range, that can connect to my laptop. Then i'd like to be able to write perl to do things like grab the lat/long every minute or so.. something like that, then i'll worry about storing the data in postgres.
