So I can't compile/install par2cmdline. Gpar2 has the
same problem.
I'm running Suse 10.1. It's a quite clean installation
so I assume this problem is on all Suse 10.1
installations.

R u using a server from IPX? the don't install the -devel stuff...
start yast by typing
yast
on your commandline and install gcc-devel and the other compiler-devel stuff and you can start :)
