#83 Can't copy in blender when using "Use Copy (Ctrl-C)" 1.1.4

I can't copy any text/numbers in blender with the new 1.1.4 version and the "Use Copy (Ctrl-C)" option enabled. With the old 1.0.2 version this works so it's probably a bug with the new version.

You can get blender with your package manager or download it here:

What version of blender are you using, and where are you pasting/copying from in blender? In other words, please give me step-by-step instructions for duplicating the problem, please. Does it happen with the default cube blender file?

I'm not convinced it's Parcellite's problem. One way to know for sure is to close parcellite and see if Blender copies then.
    http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:2.4/Manual/Extensions/Python/Text_editor

"Blender’s cut/copy/paste clipboard is separate from the operating system (OS) clipboard. So normally you cannot cut/paste/copy out from/into Blender. To access your OS clipboard:"

See if those instructions work for you.

Actually, I'm closing this bug. The issue is with Blender and I think a Blender Pilot error. :) Works fine here using Ctrl-Shift-C to copy.

The link with the clipboard explanation is for a very old version of blender, version 2.4. They did an overhaul of the UI in version 2.5 and the current version is 2.66.

I doubt that is still works that way because if I close parcellite and copy text from the text editor in blender it gets copied to the X clipboard.

And it still stands that I have this working in the old parcellite version while it's broken in the new version.

I'm sorry I didn't provide a step by step guide so here it is:

    1. Open blender 2.66 with the default cube scene.
    2. Press "n" in the 3d viewport to bring up the "transform" toolbar to the right
    3. Under "dimensions" hover your mouse over X:2.000 and press ctrl+c
    4. Under "location" hover your mouse over the "X" panel and press ctrl+v

In previous versions of parcellite this would copy and paste 2.000 this is not the case anymore. Please reopen this ticket.

Where/how did you install 2.66 from? It looks like 2.49 is going to be installed on my system (yes, it's old). Is there a .deb somewhere with 2.66?

And did you by chance close parcellite and try the Ctrl+c/Ctrl-v? I'm guessing it's working without Parcellite?

Please check out svn 375, and see if that fixes this problem. Fix verified here. Thanks.

I can confirm it's fixed in the latest svn. Thanks you for the quick fix and awesome help even though my bug report was somewhat lacking at first...

You can close this one now. Thanks again! :)

Would you mind double-checking that svn 378 still works for you? The initial fix was a bit of a kludge, so I fixed the fix as it were. Thanks! And you're welcome.

Yepp, the latest svn (379) still works for me :)
