#4 cannot configure : "C compiler cannot create executables"

i have a gentoo, that's why i'm sure that my gcc works
properly.
i tried to understand the ./configure script and it try
to execute :
"$CC $CFLAGS $CPPFLAGS $LDFLAGS conftest.$ac_ext $LIBS"

the file conftest.$ac_ext doesn't exists, neither
something like conftest.*

is it normal ?
how can i do ?

I'm a Gentoo Developer and it sounds like an issue with your
Gentoo configuration. Please test and try again. If you
still have a problem with this package, file a bug @
http://bugs.gentoo.org and we'll work out any Gentoo
specifics first and then handle it upstream here.
