i cannot get any audio out of osw with a rme delta96/8
on windows 2000. it's an s/pdif and adat card and i use
it in stereo mode with a dat recorder as DAC. works
with all other audio software.

In Options -> Audio Devices... only /audio/6 is listed.

Does it work with other applications using PortAudio?

I used PD, Audacity and Audiomulch with this soundcard
without problems (I'm not sure, if PD uses portaudio for all
audio output options or only for MME, DirectSound or ASIO).

I will try it later (when i'm back at the machine) with
Audiomulch again, which should be the reference for
    portaudio enabled software.

I tried Audiomulch and I had really a hard time to get audio
out of the sound card. the digi96/8 has only one toslink
output for 2-channel S/PDIF and 8-channel ADAT. the card
    provides 4 MME audio devices:

    DIGI96/8 Out (1+2)
    DIGI96/8 Out (3+4)
    DIGI96/8 Out (5+6)
    DIGI96/8 Out (7+8)

Audiomulch selected them all and the card switched
automatically to ADAT mode (but i only have a S/PDIF stereo
DAT machine as DAC). the solution was to remove outout 3+4,
5+6 and 7+8 in Audiomulch's preferences or alternativly
check the "A/S Conv." option in the digi96/8 control panel
(I didn't know that "A/S Conv." means ADAT to S/PDIF
converter, which means it locks the card to stereo, not a
    very userfriendly labeling).

I had no luck with Audiomulch and ASIO, although other ASIO
programs work when only 2 channels are adressed, for example
    Ableton Live.

but i have still no luck with OSW. i guess there only have
to be a way to tell OSW that it should open the "DIGI96/8
(1+2)" device only in 2 channel mode. is there a possibility
    to do this?

Doesn't fix this issue per se, but I am checking in a fix for
the ASIO driver, it seems like it's not coming up on your
    system.

Added a fix for RME Hammerfall that probably fixes this one
    as well (I hope).
Checked into CVS, will be part of 1.2.3 release.
